- Kept a hybrid mess of Windows and Linux servers alive — on-prem, cloud, and everything awkwardly in between.
- Got tired of doing the same thing twice, so automated it — deployments, routine ops, all of it via Ansible, scripting, etc.
- Babysat AWS resources in production: EC2, S3, IAM — the holy trinity of "whose fault is this access error"
- Monitored infrastructure around the clock so outages stayed hypothetical. Mostly.
- Spent quality time with ping, traceroute, and Wireshark to chase down poltergeists across the local network — usually tracking them back to a loop in the switch, or (shocker) DNS. It's always DNS.
- Coordinated with international teams across timezones because apparently problems don't respect business hours.
- Watched live telecom networks so that nobody's call drops — no pressure, just millions of users.
- Built KPI dashboards tracking QoS and QoE metrics so the important graphs always went up and to the right.
- Handled incidents end-to-end — Grafana says something's on fire, you find out what and fix it, fast.
- Wrote scripts and built GUIs to control A/V hardware via APIs — because physical buttons are apparently too easy.
- Designed signal distribution diagrams for matrix controllers, making sure the right audio went to the right place (most of the time).
End-to-end containerized web app on AWS ECS Fargate — production VPC, ECR, load balancing and full CI/CD pipeline. Zero manual deploys.
AWS web environment built entirely in code — VPC, subnets, security groups, EC2 bootstrapped on first boot. No console, no manual steps, no excuses.
Self-hosted observability lab on K3s, Prometheus + Grafana for the metrics, NGINX Ingress for traffic, Ansible so I didn't have to type the same kubectl command for the 50th time.
This site. S3 bucket, CloudFront distribution, IAM locked down — provisioned with Terraform from a blank AWS account. Eating my own cooking.
